Maggie is receiving the last few drips of infusion #3 (the 2nd time getting both drugs) this afternoon. As last week, we’re in a private infusion room at MDA and will be leaving for our apartment after the one hour observation period. Her blood work continues to be strong – showing good recovery from last week’s infusion. We’ve had an incredibly good week. Pain has been well-controlled with very few (mild) episodes requiring her “as needed” supplemental pain meds. Her nausea has also been mild requiring very little medicine to control. She has regained some of her stamina and energy. We’ve been able to get out of the apartment for short trips to the store. I can’t tell you what medicine her improvement is to our souls. Seeing her coping so well (not in bed on high doses of pain/nausea meds) makes the days much brighter.

We continue to settle into temporary life in Houston. Our apartment complex is quiet (except for what sounds like the cast of Riverdance in the unit above us rehearsing from time to time. We’re thankful they have an early bedtime or nighttime performances away – haha). We’ve had requests for our address, so I’m sharing it here.

We’ve made plans to travel home this weekend to celebrate Phil’s birthday as a family. We’ll make the most of our time in the Burg – we’ve scheduled service appointments for girls (hair and teeth) and the Tahoe. Maggie is excited to see friends AND to be at TBC Sunday. We’re praying she continues to regain strength and remains pain-free. Her next infusion will be on Thursday, April 19th.

Thank you for continuing to pray and encourage. We’re amazed at God’s goodness in surrounding us with family and friends to help carry the load. His mercies overwhelm us with their freshness.
