Maggie finished chemo this afternoon but was too nauseated at the time to think about a 90 mile drive. She’s staying another night at Batson. I returned to Hattiesburg early today for a dentist appointment (to get that chipped tooth fixed). Phil is with Maggie and has kept me updated on her condition. I’m extremely happy to report she started “perking up” (as my mom would say) this evening and was able to eat solid food for the first time since before chemo. She’s tired but in no pain right now. We think the nausea is attributable to chemo on top of antibiotics on top of fentanyl. She’s had a significant amount of drugs in her system this past week. We’re praying for continuing progress in holding nausea down while controlling pain. We’re thankful to have this round of chemo behind us. Folfiri should now start to maximize its work against the cancer.
I’ll post another update once we get her home. We’ll have a week for her to recover before we return to the clinic next week for counts. Thank you for your continuing support. We feel the prayers holding us together.
????God leads his dear children along. Some through the fire and some through the flood, but all through the blood. Some through great sorrow but God gives a song. In the night season and all the day long. ???? ????????????????????????????????
Praying that the chemo wipes out each and every cancerous cell. Praying for a good week at home.
Praying for Maggie and her family that each day will get better! Eating solid food is s great big plus in feeling stronger and “perkier”! Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Love to you, Melissa.
Thankful the nausea has subsided, and she is able to eat. Continued prayers for all of you….. especially Maggie….
Thankful for the encouraging update. Praying! Glad you were able to keep your dental appt. Melissa, a chipped tooth can be so aggravating.
Praying for symptoms to be minimal!
Praying
So thankful the nausea is subsiding!!! Keeping sweet Maggie (and you all) close to my heart and in prayer at all times! He “will supply ALL our needs according to His riches” and He “is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think”!!! We serve a mighty God!!!
Please tell Maggie that I will be as bravest she has. I know a lot of medical treatments and such but not about current techniques in cancer .I will be learning the hard way. I have cancer in my breast and having surgery here in Fairhope on Friday. When you speak to our Lord ,please pray for all the people affected.Hang strong, Maggie and Iwill try to follow your great example. Love y’all!
Continuing to pray for Maggie.
