Hello from Houston. I first want to clear up confusion caused by my sharing of a year old Facebook post. The post showed up as a memory last night and I shared it with an explanation that is was a post from a year ago. Somehow it is “showing up” without my comments added. I think many of you may be under the impression Maggie’s lung nodules have started to grow again. That is not the case. As of her last scan on 4/12/2017, they remain stable. Sorry for the confusion. I’ll stay away from sharing anything that isn’t fresh.

We had our visit today at MD Anderson for lab work and consultation with the oncologist. We were pleased to find her bilirubin is continuing to fall post-stent placement and is near normal. We are most pleased to learn Maggie is still considered a good candidate for clinical trials. We were uncertain whether it was time to revisit standard chemotherapy given the progression of disease in the liver. Dr. Raghav assured us her health is strong enough to tolerate the rigors of a trial protocol. It just so happens, he has a new trial opening for enrollment in two weeks. It is a promising study employing three targeted therapy/immunotherapy agents – one of which she has taken. We have begun the steps necessary to have her qualified for this study – all of it to take place in Houston at MDA. If all initial steps go through, we will return to Houston in late May to start qualification testing. We’ll keep you posted in the meantime with new information and health updates.

Now on to fun, tex-mex, and a little “culture” for the Hanberry family. We are looking forward to beautiful weekend with relaxation on the schedule. Thank you for your continuing prayers.
