I know I’m overdue to offer an update:

Maggie and I went to Birmingham last Thursday morning for a CT scan and Echocardiogram – the final tests needed to evaluate her for the clinical trial. I received word today from the trial coordinator that Maggie has been registered and is clear to begin next week. The plan is for us to go over Wednesday to have blood drawn for labs. We’ll stay overnight in a hotel, then report to the clinic for the first infusion. We plan to stay Thursday night to be close “just in case” there is an unexpected reaction. If all goes well, we’ll return home Friday.

We are thankful for the opportunity to try a new treatment which has the potential to benefit Maggie immediately and others down the road. We’re also thankful we’ll be staying close to home. Maggie wants her treatments to interfere with her church/social/family time as little as possible. We’ll be working to establish a Thursday/Friday schedule once we get past Thanksgiving.

I’ll be posting a reminder update early next week with a firm schedule. We value the prayers you all are faithful to offer on our behalf and want to keep you aware of each potential or actual need. Thank you for your support.
