Maggie has had a slow but steady recovery from her last chemo round. She has experienced the same cycle of fluid retention, aggravated tummy, and low appetite as after the previous two rounds. The last three days have been good – she has been able to branch out and eat some of her favorites and spend most of her time out of bed. We have an appointment Monday morning (7/16) at the CCC for an exam and admission for chemo (if her counts cooperate). This next infusion will be the fourth round of chemo since returning from MD Anderson in May. The plan after this round is to return to MDA for scans and a meeting with her primary oncologist, Dr. Raghav. This trip is scheduled for the first week in August.

Our prayer request, in addition to the usual maximum effectiveness/minimum side effects, is for counts to cooperate with our schedule! We need her neutrophils to show up tomorrow to allow admission. Maggie is hoping to have the infusion this week and have next week to recover prior to making the trip to Houston. More importantly her buddy Natalie will be in town next week preparing to move to DC for law school. Chemo is not part of their plans!

Thank you for continuing to stay updated and pray for us. We feel each one and are blessed by the thoughtfulness. I’ll update our admission status at my earliest convenience. Goodnight.
