Maggie has spent much of the week (after discharge from Batson Saturday) in bed, feeling pretty bad. Until today. After the best night of sleep in a week, she has been out of bed most of the day. She is still retaining a large amount of fluid but feels some relief and has not had to battle an upset tummy. A good day. We’ll take it. We had begun to think we might be headed to Batson at some point to have the fluid issue addressed, but it now looks as if we need not rush. Her pain has been well-controlled with few breakthrough episodes which is a blessing, too. The less supplemental pain medicine required, the more she can stay awake and alert. I’m happy to report her smile and sense of humor are in good working order.

We are praying for the her current status to stick around for the weekend. We appreciate having quality time with her – including Meg and Max. Monday morning we’ll be traveling early to the clinic for a planned chemo admission as long as her counts are solid – prayer request #2.

Thank you for prayers and expressions of love and concern. We have been able to rest in a peace we can not fully comprehend. We hope you all rest in the same peace.
