Maggie has an 8:00 appointment at the CCC for probable admission for chemo. If all goes well this should last until Wednesday afternoon when we can come home. She’s feeling ok – not sick but not real energetic. This may have to do with appetite/gut issues. We’ll be talking with her doctor about this to figure out what is happening. One of Dr. Saleh’s suggestions last week during our visit at UAB was to find “real” yogurt. Not the typical grocery store variety, but some homemade or locally made source. We found a co-op that would ship, so we’re in business. (I mentioned in my Thanksgiving 2017 blog post here that Dr. Saleh had other encouraging on the research/clinical trial front. I’m eager to share, so look for that in my next update).

It’s an exciting week at Batson. We’ve been invited to join other patient families as guests at groundbreaking for the new facilities being added. We’ve been involved (in our small way) in fundraising efforts to see this addition take place. Now that the day is here, we’re thankful. The ceremony will be Friday, Dec. 1st. We’re praying for a quick recovery for Maggie to allow her to enjoy the day. Saturday is the Jingle Bell Jog 5K in Ridgeland. This is the annual fundraiser for the Children’s Cancer Clinic and the entire Hanberry crew will be running/walking/cheering. We’ll be sure to take photos and share some here next week. Whew. Busy week!

I’ll update during Maggie’s infusion this week. Once again, thank for your prayers for her healing, strength, minimal side effects, and safety in traveling. We continue to marvel at our “spotless” driving record in over three years of frequent trips. We hear rumors of much needed road work on 49 south of Jackson. We are not complaining (even if we find traffic at a standstill)!

Good night.
