We’ve had a blessedly uneventful week. Maggie has rested at home – no complications to propel us back to Batson. She has recovered nicely from the C-Diff and seems to be getting stronger. We’re working with Dr. Rippel, her pediatric GI doctor, on an extended regimen of vancomycin to keep the down the chances of a C-Diff recurrence. We’ve finished our packing for an early appointment at the Children’s Cancer Center. If all counts look solid, we’ll be admitted for chemo treatment #3 of the current protocol. This treatment will have us staying through Wednesday afternoon. Barring unforeseen complications, we’ll come home then for rest/recovery.

Maggie’s pain has been well-controlled with only some discomfort after she had a transfusion last Saturday prior to her discharge after the C-Diff treatment. We’re not sure if the two are linked or occurred by coincidence. That is one question we hope to clear up tomorrow during her exam.

We continue to be amazed and appreciative of many acts of generosity and kindness. Thank you for showing your love to us. We covet your prayers as treatment continues. We hope to settle into a routine and plug back into our normal lives. I was able to attend church for the first time in a number of weeks, and it felt like home. Of course it did. Being part of such a fellowship is a blessing! I’ll update as soon as I can regarding this status of this week’s planned admission.
