Happy Easter to all and Happy Birthday to the love of my life, Phil.

Quick update: Maggie is still in-patient at UAB. She has a super nice room in the Gyn-Oncology unit (the regular oncology unit is full). she is resting much better, her appetite has returned somewhat, and we even catch a smile or two. The oncologist came by this morning – her platelets or low (possibly due to liver situation) and her liver counts are still high. The stent placement procedure needs to be Tuesday – we were hoping for Monday – to allow adequate time for bile duct sphincter to rest from the first attempt. There’s no talk of discharge to the hotel to wait for Tuesday, and that’s ok. She’s resting well there. Phil and I are able to trade out and rest, too. We’ve settled in the Courtyard and have all we need. Well, more than we need. With vending options galore, a Starbucks, Au Bon Pain, and food court within close proximity (not to mention options out the hospital door within a short walk), I feel I’m being stalked by the ghost of my “freshman” fifteen. (I discovered Dolly Madison honey buns in my USM dorm, and it was all she wrote.) So far, we’ve stayed on the salad/fruit/yogurt aisle. I’m hoping will power holds!

We appreciate the prayers.
