I had planned to blog yesterday, but I got benadryl, phenergan, and ativan within a very short time so any hopes of not being in a catatonic state for the rest of the day were lost. I even had completely written this post when my computer freaked out and deleted the draft. So thank you, life, for trying to rain on my proverbial parade.
This month has been filled with amazing opportunities. I am truly thankful for each and every one. So I wanted to quick review of my month, and to show you how much your prayers for me have been at work in my life.
This September we issued a challenge for Go Gold Day, to see who could post the best picture sporting their gold for Childhood Cancer Awareness month. And the winner was……..Ben Beasley and Drew Chapman for the win! Thank you to all who were a part of this day. I was amazed and thankful for everyone who wore gold. You made me smile the whole day! This month, I got the opportunity to speak at USM Phi Mu fundraiser, Bonnamu, to raise money for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, including Batson. This was a great day and I am so thankful to Melody Hill and all of Phi Mu for the work they do for Batson!
This month, I also go to share my testimony with First Priority at Oak Grove High school! I love getting to share about the work God is doing in my life. If you had told me 2 years ago that I was speak at Bonnamu and First Priority, I would have laughed in your face and then gone back to watching Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and pretending I could dance. But its real, and it happened. And I am so thankful!
I’m still playing keyboard for Wednesday nights, keeping up with school, and leading a life-group at church. I stay busy but I wouldn’t want it any other way. I take time to rest, but I love normal days, where I do normal things, and get to forget about cancer for a little while. I took my first college tour this month which is wayyyyy hard to believe. But I got to tour William Carey and I absolutely loved it. I still have honors day at USM this month so I’m keeping my options open. But with lots of prayer, I will be making my decision very soon!
Thank you so much to everyone who has made September such a wonderful month! It may be the end of Childhood Cancer Awareness month, but you don’t have to limit the gold to one month. October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, but pink isn’t limited to that one month. Spread gold all year long! And get ready, colon cancer awareness is in March, so get your Navy ready. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read my blog. I know you have million other things you could be doing in your day, but I love to share with you how your prayers are at work in my life! So thank you for reading and God bless!
